Do Not Be Afraid: Defeating Fear with Hope, Peace, Love, Joy and a Wholehearted Life. Join us for our Advent Study where through the work of Dr. Brené Brown, we will explore our Advent theme of ‘Be Not Afraid.’ Dr. Brené Brown is a social worker, researcher, and best-selling author. Dr. Brown’s work on vulnerability speaks to how we let fear–in many forms–affect our lives. Brené calls on us to live more fully into hope, peace, joy, and love through practicing vulnerability. The format is scripture, video and discussion, starts November 21 @ 2 pm in the Family Room. Rev. Catherine will also be offering the same study through a closed Facebook group.
A little bit more of the entryway got painted this week! Can’t wait to get it all done!
Thanks to John Wagner for painting the bookcases that hold the hymnbooks as well as the one in the Family Room.
A big THANK YOU to all who helped minister to Phyllis Thompson’s family this past week.
I attended Conference Executive meetings last weekend at Tatamagouche Centre. Part of the business was a workshop from someone on the national Boundaries Commission. With the changes coming in the structure of the national church, a Boundaries Commission was struck to meet with various groups of people across the country. The commission will share a preliminary report by the end of January, and feedback will be encouraged, and a final report will be available in March.
