Thursday Thoughts – September 6, 2018

I changed the name! Wednesday (midweek) always seemed to pass before I did the ‘Midweek Message’ so I have given up… and moved it to Thursday.

On Saturday come to Riverview for the Indoor Yard Sale!

This Sunday we are back to two services: Riverview @ 9:30 and NMR @ 11:15.

This week we start our fall series: Shaped by God

Focus – Shaped by Challenges

 Scripture – Mark 7: 24-37

 Questions for pondering:

  • When has your faith been challenged?
  • What circumstances enable you to challenge existing norms?
  • This passage shows Jesus is a less than flattering light; how does that impact your faith?

Our Welcome and Welcome Back Service is September 23rd! We are looking for someone or a few someones to coordinate the potluck brunch/lunch afterwards.

“MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK” It is PIE MAKING time once again, and we would appreciate all the help we can get in making pie dough, peeling apples, and assembling the pies. Here is our tentative schedule: start time 9:00 am.

Making pie dough September 10th, and September 17th
Making the pies September 11th and 13th
September 18th and 20th

There is a sign-up sheet on the middle magnetic board in the entryway.

A NOTE FROM DORCAS PLACE Dorcas Place will be open on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday to Thursday from 10:00 am to noon, and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
