When you read this, I will be on my way to Saco, Maine to participate in the United Church of Christ’s Annual Meeting. That is followed by a week of Study Leave, I will be working on material for Advent/Christmas, putting together a binder of information on the Interim Ministry for your new minister, as well as attending the Anglican Diocese of New Brunswick Annual Meeting in Fredericton on November 3/4.
Work in the wider church is part of every minister’s role; my nomination for Conference President was supported by the leadership of both congregations, as well as the Ministry & Personnel Committee and the Transition Team. My travel schedule has been heavy this fall, and I work my days off in order to continue to fulfill my primary role as your minister. And in case you don’t know, all of my travel costs/hotel etc. are paid for by the conference.
If you missed my reflections on my time at the Presbyterian Synod, you can find them here.
Rev. Renee Clark is leading worship for the next two weeks.
This week’s readings: Job 42: 1-6, 10-17 & Mark 10:46-52
Reflection Title: Dust and Ashes, Mercy and Blessing

Pastoral Visitors Workshop
For all of you who said we need a Pastoral Care Team, here’s your chance for some training. 😉 The cost of the workshop can be covered, please register yourself and let Rev. Catherine know.
Clergy and lay visitors (already visiting or newly interested) are invited to a Pastoral Visitors workshop on Saturday, Nov. 10th at St. Andrew’s United Church, Truro. We gather at 10:00 am and are on our way at 2:30 pm.
We consider recent shifts in pastoral care, especially in changing times and within part-time ministry; we explore what makes a visit “pastoral;” and with the assistance of an experienced panel, we reflect on practical strategies to common issues and learn helpful practices to support and nurture a pastoral care team within a community of faith.
The first 30 participants registered will receive 4 sets of 10 seasonal Pastoral Visiting Cards (a Prayer Bench design) to share with those visited. Cards include a photo, scripture, brief reflection and Prayer. Pastoral Visiting Cards are also available for sale.
Register with Kim Curlett at email@example.com The cost of this workshop is $10. Lunch is provided.
